Mazda’s New Diesel – or Not Quite Diesel
Every automobile manufacturer is scrambling for better fuel economy. Smaller engines, bigger turbochargers and lighter vehicles are in play. Ten speed automatic transmissions are becoming commonplace.
They’re also eliminating things in an effort to control rising costs. Passenger side key locks? Gone! Trunk key locks? Gone! Spark plugs? Now, wait a minute. We need those. Or do we?
This thing is a compression-fired gasoline engine. Their marketing people should be fired for the stupid names, but the engineers are genius. Names like Zoom Zoom 2030 or Skyactiv engines just don’t resonate. How can the maker of the most raced car in America be getting such an ass-kicking at the showroom? (Rabbit hole?)

VW Buys Up More Navistar Shares
In an attempt to become the world’s biggest automobile maker, or was it truck maker? Or was it law suit? Anyway, we all know VW wants Navistar. After their latest purchase they now own about 17% of the company.
